More effective meetings


How effective are your meetings?  How much of your time do you spend in meetings?  Most people hate meetings because they consist of a lot of discussion with no problem solving.

Here, Mike introduces a meeting format for The Daily Huddle to ensure that everyone in your veterinary practice is on the same page, rowing in the same direction, and oriented toward problem solving.

We also use a similar approach to standardizing the one (and only) weekly meeting in which your leadership team will participate.  The purpose of this 90 minute meeting is primarily focused on identifying and solving problems by assigning to-dos to team members that they are responsible for completing within seven days.

Mike Johnson

By 2002, Mike had spent two decades establishing himself as a transformational leader in the industries of pharmaceutical sales, investment banking, and accounting.  He was well respected, had a strong reputation for driving measurable outcomes, and was widely regarded as the quintessential American success story.

That all changed on May 8th, 2002 when his close friend and career-long mentor, Jay Gulotta, tragically and shockingly took his own life.  Jay’s death triggered Mike to grapple with his own demons and gain the perspective that the professional reputation and financial success he had attained fell far short of that thing we all desire: happiness.  He quickly realized that his pursuit of professional success had come at the expense of his personal relationships and fulfillment.

It was time for a dramatic shift.

Mike courageously stepped away from his long-storied career to redirect his energy toward helping entrepreneurs sharpen their skills and strengthen their businesses to create workplaces that produce results and that people love!  Achieving this often requires Mike to serve as a warrior for the human spirit; overcoming cynicism, resisting mediocrity, and leveraging a unique blend of rigor and compassion to gently guide leadership teams toward achieving their vision while also establishing a more balanced life.
